Tumbling, twirling snowflakes
Drifting down upon my face
Let me know that Christmas
Is soon to start its race
A race to get the presents
For the children dear,
And all your friends and loved ones,
As soon as it draws near
Yes, Christmas time is coming,
I feel it day and night.
A time we draw together,
To view the tender sight
Of children all a-laughing,
Of mistletoe and cheer.
The turkey and the dressing,
The love, the joy - and fear.
Fear of Christmas leaving,
For with it goes your heart
Gentle spirits sagging
As families once more part.
